Partner Relationship Management - PRM
Underpinning both the TWS platform and the Payments & Service Engine is the Partner Relationship Management (PRM) module of Aepona's Universal Service Platform.
The PRM module provides portal capabilities for partner sign-up and management, hierarchical policy enforcement and SLA management, and for all aspeccts of payment & settlement. The PRM module automates the process of partner sign-up and management, reducing the cost and time to ÒonboardÓ external partners. A partner is any 3rd party who signs up to use the network and/or payments services.
For many operators the sign-up, creation, maintenance and configuration of new partners as well as their services are mainly manual and resource intensive processes. This causes problems with regard to timeliness, accuracy and co-ordination of the data required for the various service and back-end systems.
The goal of the USP Partner Relationship Management implementation is to reduce both management and integration effort for the operator and partner alike. PRM provides the ability to maintain all partner data in a single place, yet let it be shared with other systems to ensure smooth and correct functioning of the end-to-end delivery and charging of applications.
This happens as part of a well defined business process and can include e-mail based notification of relevant parties and system administrators or, in a more complex scenario, include direct API integration for automatic provisioning of external systems.
PRM Components

One of the main functions of PRM Portal is to simplify management and automate business processes between the network operator and a potentially large number of Application Partners. Within the PRM management framework, Partners are organized into a hierarchical tree structure that enables easy management and delegation of rights for both the network operator and Partners within their own organizations.
The Portal look & feel can be adapted to suit an Operator's brand, or can be integrated with an existing portal infrastructure.
PRM Portal is a comprehensive partner management system built on open standards, levering industry best practices.
Fundamental to the scalability of the partner community and the reduction in effort of the operator's partner managers, is the ability to involve the partners in the application lifecycle process to as great a degree as possible.
Aepona's USP PRM provides an extensive partner self care feature which allows the partner manager to define on trust-levels and management privileges afforded each partner. This allows much of the data entry to be handled by the partnersÕ themselves, while partner managers can handle on approvals, testing or revenue share agreements.
The self-service interface also facilitates information sharing and gives partners access to their own traffic, revenue and settlement reports.
On the other side of the spectrum, the portal also provides the self care and auditing features for subscribers who avail themselves of the payment services.
A Service Level Agreement (SLA) is the XSPÕs agreement with the network operator. The SLA states the level of access the application provider is allowed to network resources. PRM allows the network operator to define standard SLA packages, which can be assigned to many Partners or to MVNO users for further delegation. The SLA allows the 3rd party to indicate their desired level of access to network resources and in turn the mobile operator commits to providing this level of service, subject to agreed terms and conditions. The SLA also contains information on such aspects as billing and bandwidth allocation.

PRM places a strong emphasis on self care, both for 3rd parties and subscribers. As well as providing management functions, the portal offers development resources, forums, etc to support a 3rd party developer community.
